Nvidia acknowledged the presence of a Specter vulnerability in its GPU drivers


As it turned out, the vulnerabilities recently discovered in Intel processors are in the drivers for Nvidia GPUs. More specifically, this refers to the vulnerability of the Specter, known in two versions. Vulnerability Meltdown in the drivers for GPU Nvidia is missing. 

The first version of the Specter is in the drivers for GeForce, Quadro, NVS, Tesla and GRID. The second, according to the source, is "partially". 

The fact of existence of the Specter vulnerability was acknowledged by the manufacturer himself, releasing it to eliminate its driver update. Nvidia makes a reservation that the update closes only the first version of Specter. The update that closes the second version of the Specter should come out in the future. We add that the first update is not yet available for Tesla and GRID users. 

There is no information about how the update affects performance.
